Blend recipes · Bug repellent

quiet as a temple

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · code BL-2599

For an evening of stillness, minus the buzzing. Citronella leads with warm, bold hay; tea tree, lemongrass and lavender split the rest evenly, green-clean, fresh and tangy, then settling into soft florals. Good for bedrooms, a meditation corner or reading room. Start the diffuser 20 minutes before you meditate or sleep; raise lavender to 6 drops for a calmer scent.

How it unfolds

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Skin irritant

Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use quiet as a temple in a diffuser?
Add Citronella 3 · Tea Tree 2 · Lemongrass 2 · Lavender 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of citronella?
Swap citronella for rosemary or eucalyptus — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: rosemary is cool, green, herbal and invigorating.
When is the best time to use quiet as a temple?
Diffuse it on the balcony, porch or in the bedroom in the evening; keep the window screens shut for best results.
