mountain-village calm

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-3167

Sweet resinous wood, bright citrus, like sitting on a wooden porch.

Northwest Vietnam style calm starts with sweet, resinous, warm po mu wood, then bergamot and mandarin brighten things up, like sitting on the porch of a wooden stilt house watching the clouds drift by. Great for the living room, a wood-toned bedroom or a reading corner in the afternoon. Add 5 drops to the diffuser, brew a hot pot of tea and play some instrumental music; for more freshness, add one drop of mandarin.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); mandarin (gently sweet, softer than orange) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Po Mu (sweet, resinous and slightly spicy, a very grounded Vietnamese wood) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Po Mu 3 · Bergamot 2 · Mandarin 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Po Mu 2 · Bergamot 1 · Mandarin 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Po Mu 13 · Bergamot 9 · Mandarin 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use mountain-village calm in a diffuser?
Add Po Mu 3 · Bergamot 2 · Mandarin 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of Po Mu?
Swap Po Mu for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use mountain-village calm?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
