fifth alarm, for real now

2 oils · Citrus · Minty · code BL-1175

The alarm is going off for the fifth time; this time you really have to get up. Two drops of peppermint open with a refreshing chill, and one drop of lemon eucalyptus adds a fresh lemony note with a hint of coolness. A small recipe for the bedroom in the morning. Put your phone far from the bed so you have to get up to switch the alarm off, then start the diffuser right away.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); lemon eucalyptus (green, lemony and cool, a little like lemongrass) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Peppermint 2 · Lemon Eucalyptus 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Peppermint 3 · Lemon Eucalyptus 2 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Peppermint 20 · Lemon Eucalyptus 10 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.
