Citronella and peppermint share the lead, one grassy and bold, one cool and tingly, for a very wide-awake scent. Tea tree adds a green-clean note, and bergamot, just 2 drops, softens and sweetens the tail. Good for a home office or study room in the evening, when the windows have to stay open for air. For the bedroom, cut peppermint to 6 drops so it is easier to drift off.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
