Ylang ylang is sweet and warm like afternoon sun through the curtains, and bergamot follows to make the scent bright and airy, with a gentle hint of tea. Just two oils, yet enough to capture that giddy feeling of meeting someone lovely. Great for a home office in the afternoon. If you're sitting for long and need to stay alert, flip the ratio to 3 ylang ylang, 4 bergamot for a lighter scent.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
