Isobutyl butyrate is an aliphatic ester occurring substantially in Roman chamomile.

Skin. A 12 percent patch test on 25 volunteers produced neither irritation nor sensitization.

Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats and acute dermal LD50 in rabbits both exceed 5 g/kg.
