History

p-Cresyl acetate is the ester of p-cresol and occurs naturally in small amounts in ylang ylang and some flowers. It carries the animal side of flowers such as narcissus.

In perfumery

It is used at low levels in narcissus, ylang ylang and white floral accords for depth.
