rugged, but tidy

2 oils · Herbal · code BL-1811

Eucalyptus opens straightforward, cool and pungent like early morning in the mountains, and thyme follows with a dry, slightly spicy herbal note like a faded jacket. Rugged yet clean, with just enough grit to feel adventurous. Great for a diffuser in your workspace or car. The 30-drop batch is quite strong, so use only 3–4 drops at a time for small spaces.

How it unfolds

On opening. Eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Diffuser

Eucalyptus 20 · Thyme 10 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

FAQ

How do I use rugged, but tidy in a diffuser?
Add Eucalyptus 5 · Thyme 3 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of eucalyptus?
Swap eucalyptus for rosemary or tea tree — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: rosemary is cool, green, herbal and invigorating.
When is the best time to use rugged, but tidy?
Diffuse it in a room, or mix a roller to dab on your wrists (diluted in a carrier oil).
