Pentadecanolide is a macrocyclic lactone present at low levels in angelica root oil. Available data does not indicate significant risk.

Skin. Tested at 10 percent on human subjects it was neither irritating nor sensitizing. The compound is not phototoxic.

Oral. Acute oral LD50 in rats exceeded 5 g/kg, a high value typical of low-toxicity compounds.
