1-Octen-3-yl acetate is an aliphatic alkene ester occurring at very low levels in lavender absolute.

Skin. No public sensitization data. However, RIFM data indicate sensitization potential at 10 percent and no reaction at 3 percent.

IFRA safety guidance. Should not be used such that the level in finished cosmetic products exceeds 0.3 percent. For consumer products without skin contact under normal use, the level should not exceed 0.6 percent.
