History

Isobutyl quinoline is a classic material for leather accords in 20th century perfumery. Its odor is very strong, so it is usually sold or used diluted.

Isobutyl quinoline gives a dry, green leather tone to leather chypres and fougères, often combined with birch tar substitutes, castoreum and florals.
