History

Boisambrene Forte is the formaldehyde acetal of cyclododecanol. Cyclododecane is an inexpensive petrochemical, so this is an economical woody amber widely used in household products.

In perfumery

It provides a woody amber base for soap, detergent and mass-market fragrance.
