History

Musk tibetene is a nitro musk less common than musk xylene and musk ketone. Following general concerns over nitro musks, IFRA issued a Prohibition Standard, published 2008, and the EU prohibits it in cosmetics.

Musk tibetene is no longer used in fragrance.
