History

p-Methyltetrahydroquinoline is the partly reduced form of 6-methylquinoline. The synonym Civettal points to its original purpose: recreating the animal side of civet without animal material.

In perfumery

It is used in traces in civet, leather and white floral accords, under the conditions of the IFRA Standard.
