History

Karanal is a dioxane acetal developed by Quest International and now in Givaudan's portfolio. It is one of the very strong woody ambers that emerged in the late 20th century.

In perfumery

Karanal is used at low levels to add radiance and dryness to woody amber accords in masculine and unisex fragrance.
