History

Cashmeran was developed by IFF within the indane musk family. Structurally it is close to the polycyclic musks, but its odor leans toward wood, so it is usually placed between musk and woody materials.

In perfumery

Cashmeran is used for a soft, warm, wool or skin-like effect in woody, amber and floral fragrances. It bridges woody notes and musks in the heart and base.
